First time in many decades India has taken the fight right into the Pak Territory.
At 3.30am on Tuesday morning, India woke up to the news of the Indian Air Force attacking terror camps deep within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. Indian Air Force jets crossed the Line of Control, flew into Pakistan and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammad’s biggest terror camp. India’s airstrike came just 12 days after the dastardly terror attack by JeM on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama that left 40 CRPF jawans dead.
In his briefing to the media, foreign secretary VK Gokhale said on Tuesday morning, “Credible intelligence was received that JeM was attempting another suicide terror attack in various parts of the country, and the fidayeen jihadis were being trained for this purpose. In the face of imminent danger, a pre-emptive strike became absolutely necessary.”
The IAF’s ‘Surgical Strike 2.0’ (as social media is calling the airstrikes of Tuesday morning) left Twitter churning out the best reactions.
